Piano Hire

Mercedes cost more than Fords because they’re better cars. Way, way better. Better materials, better design, better quality control, higher standards of manufacture. No contest.

A Chinese-manufactured 5′ grand piano that you buy for $4500 at Costco or your local Piano Warehouse or Piano Discounts or whatever, is going to be, however long it lasts, a PSO,* a POS,**or both.

The reason a Fazioli 6-footgrand costs $65,000 retail is because it’s a custom-designedhand built instrument that sounds and feels incredibly good. It’s worth every penny to the right person. It’s a world away from more commercially inspired and produced pianos, as are many other hand-built instruments —Mason & Hamlin, Steinway (certainly the Hamburg pianos; American Steinways are a special case) Bechstein, Bosendorfer, Steingraeber & Sons, Shigeru Kawai, Yamaha ”S” and “CF” series pianos, to name some that I love and respect.

THERE ARE NO STUPID QUESTIONS

Good pianotechs LOVE questions; don’t be afraid to ask any piano question that comes up. As a friend of mine, Roger Jolly, says, “Triple A, baby.” That means Always AApprentice. Buddhists call it the student’s mind. You never, ever stop learning about pianos. If a pianotech tells you he or she knows all there is about something, it’s a big red flag.

GOLDEN RULE

Hire A  Piano

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

This is the basis and inspiration for my business; respect and honestly are what I want and what I give.
